BrightSource Energy

BrightSource Energy Inc. (website) is a developer of solar thermal power plants headquartered in Oakland, California. 1   BrightSource is planning to build the Ivanpah 1, 2, and 3 plants using a power-tower-type thermal system.

Luz II, LTD, a wholly owned subsidiary of BrightSource Energy headquartered in Israel, provides product engineering and development services.

Arnold Goldman, the founder of BrightSource energy, also founded Luz, now defunct, which developed the SEGS plants, currently the largest solar power facility in the world.
