Solar Heating

Solar heating captures radiant solar energy as thermal energy for uses such as water heating and space heating. It is common to classify solar heating systems into two groups:

• Passive solar heating relies on the design of a building to collect, store, and distribute heat.
• Active solar heating uses pumps to move a working fluid, such as water or air, between a solar collection unit and a storage vessel or building space.
